Our ESG Charter
OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS COMMITTED
Aware of its economic, social and environmental responsibilities, Cogency SA places sustainable development and corporate social responsibility at the heart of its activities and strategy.
As a company active in the information technology sector, we are convinced that the management and optimisation of digital systems play an essential role in building a more sustainable, resilient and responsible economy.
At our level, we are committed to integrating these principles into all our decisions, services and relationships with our stakeholders.
Our approach is based on a pragmatic and progressive strategy, aimed at balancing economic performance, respect for the environment and social responsibility. It is underpinned by concrete, measurable actions tailored to our size, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement.
The Board of Directors is committed to actively supporting this approach, monitoring its implementation and promoting a corporate culture based on ethics, transparency and sustainability.
Through this charter, Cogency SA formalises its commitment and affirms its determination to contribute, at its own level, to sustainable development for the benefit of its clients, its employees and society.

This charter formalises Cogency SA’s commitment to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. It applies to all of the company’s activities, as well as to its relationships with its employees, customers, partners and suppliers.
Cogency SA places sustainable development and corporate social responsibility at the heart of its activities and strategy. As a company active in the information technology sector, we believe that the management, security and optimisation of digital systems are concrete drivers for a more sustainable, efficient and resilient economy.
Our approach is designed to be pragmatic and results-oriented. With this in mind, we have chosen to focus our efforts on a limited number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are directly linked to our business and our actual impacts. This deliberate selection enables us to act in a targeted, measurable and credible manner, with the ambition of making progress step by step, prioritising concrete actions and tangible results.
This approach is fully aligned with our overall strategy, which aims to combine operational performance, responsibility and the creation of sustainable value for our clients, employees and partners.
Cogency SA therefore draws on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals most relevant to its business, namely:
-
gender equality (SDG 5)
-
decent work and economic growth (SDG 8)
-
industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9)
-
responsible consumption and production (SDG 12)
-
climate action (SDG 13)

GENDER EQUALITY (SDG 5)
This goal aims to ensure equality between women and men and to eliminate all forms of discrimination.
Our priorities
The IT sector has historically been characterised by imbalances, which implies a particular responsibility when it comes to equity
Our actions
-
Application of the principle of equal pay for work of equal value
-
Implementation of recruitment processes based exclusively on skills and experience
-
Promotion of an inclusive, respectful and discrimination-free working environment
Our contributions
-
Reduction of inequalities within the company
-
Promotion of diversity in the profiles recruited
-
Strengthening of a fair and inclusive corporate culture
DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH (SDG 8)
This goal aims to promote quality employment, fair working conditions and sustainable economic growth.
Our priorities
In a demanding sector such as IT, attracting, retaining and developing talent are essential.
Our actions
-
Strict compliance with Swiss labour law and fair working conditions
-
Implementation of flexible working arrangements (remote working, adaptable organisation) to promote a healthy work-life balance
-
Investment in continuous professional development to maintain a high level of technical skills and employability
Our contributions
-
Improving staff well-being and engagement
-
Strengthening internal skills
-
Contributing to sustainable and high-quality economic growth

INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE (SDG 9)
This goal aims to develop reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, whilst promoting technological innovation.
Our priorities
We are directly involved in the design and operation of digital infrastructure, the performance, resilience and energy efficiency of which have a direct impact on organisations
Our actions
-
Design of hybrid and cloud architectures enabling dynamic resource allocation, avoiding oversizing and improving the overall efficiency of systems
-
Implementation of cyber resilience and business continuity solutions, incorporating automated data recovery and security mechanisms
-
Use of analysis and automation tools, particularly those based on advanced data processing approaches, to optimise infrastructure operations and anticipate future needs
Our contributions
-
Improving the resilience and availability of information systems
-
Optimising the use of IT resources and reducing waste
-
Enhancing the performance and sustainability of digital infrastructure
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION (SDG 12)
This goal aims to ensure the sustainable and efficient management of resources, in particular by reducing waste.
Our priorities
The growth in data volumes and digital usage poses a major challenge in terms of resources and environmental impact. As an IT provider, Cogency SA helps to manage this footprint, whilst applying these principles to its own operations through digital and operational efficiency practices.
Our actions
-
Implementation of internal efficiency principles: digitisation, paper reduction, responsible management of data and equipment
-
Data lifecycle management (classification, archiving, deletion) to limit stored volumes
-
Optimisation of backups and storage (reduction of duplication, adjustment of retention periods, storage tailored to needs)
Our contributions
-
Measurable reduction in the volume of stored data and associated resources
-
Reduction in costs and the environmental footprint associated with IT infrastructure
-
Alignment of internal practices with the services offered, strengthening the credibility and overall impact of the sustainability approach

MEASURES TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE (SDG 13)
This goal aims to take measures to combat climate change and mitigate its impacts, in particular by reducing emissions and improving resource efficiency.
Our priorities
Although our direct footprint is limited, the indirect impact linked to IT infrastructure, the energy consumption of digital systems and working practices is significant. The challenge lies in taking a pragmatic approach to these areas, by optimising digital usage and reducing the impacts associated with internal activities and services provided to clients.
Our actions
-
Implementation of responsible internal practices: reducing unnecessary consumption, optimising equipment and using energy-efficient partners and infrastructure
-
Optimisation of IT infrastructure (scaling, pooling, virtualisation, cloud) to limit overall energy consumption
-
Reduction in business travel through remote collaboration tools and hybrid working arrangements
Our contributions
-
Raising awareness among customers and employees of the environmental impact of digital technology and associated best practices
-
Indirect reduction of emissions linked to digital infrastructure and IT usage
-
Improving the energy efficiency of systems and working practices
All of these commitments are being implemented gradually and are monitored regularly using indicators tailored to the size of the company.
We are committed to a process of continuous improvement, adapting our practices in line with changes in society, the expectations of our stakeholders, and environmental and societal challenges.
Through this charter, we formalise our commitment to concrete, measurable sustainable development that is aligned with our core business, serving our customers, our employees and society.
